Late Night Calls with You 

I knew that I would be tired the next day

Yet staying up, and talking to you felt worth it 

Worth every laugh, every tear, and every moment of silence 

Despite it being so quiet, it felt as if you were the only one hearing me 

Even with all the small noises that otherwise scared me at night,

Listening to you was all that mattered 

People usually put on masks at night, 

You made me feel like I could take off mine. 

A day of pretending to be someone I am not, ended when you answered the phone

Thank you for being there 

Thank you for telling me the truth

Thank you for giving me your time…

Time that helped me discover myself.
