POV: You Are An Only Child

Now the fear haunts me, 

The fear that there will come a day when the two people who shaped my journey, are no longer joining me for the rest of mine. 

I lose sleep knowing that, from that day onwards I will be the only reflection of those two people that walks this earth. 

All their hopes, love, and sacrifices will reside within me. 

But only within me. 

Because when that day comes…

There will be no one to safely cry in front of. 

No one too confide in.

No one to protect me from the storm that brews outside. 

Or the one that brews within.
