POV: You chose to walk away

Walking away isn’t the same as running away. 

When I walked away, I looked back at what I was leaving behind 

and then chose to keep walking.  

I know it may seem like I did it for myself, but it was because I loved you. 

So much so that, I didn’t want you to know how much you hurt me.

I thought that if you found out how I felt, it might hurt you too.

And then I would bear the burden of two broken souls. 

Huh, maybe I did do it for myself…
